ISS Cape Verde received Franco-German Prize for Human Rights and the Rule of Law 2022

In a joint letter from the Embassies of France and Germany in Cape Verde, Lourença Tavares, president of ACRIDES (ISS Cape Verde) was distinguished with the Franco-German Prize for Human Rights and the Rule of Law 2022, for her “extraordinary commitment” in favor of Human Rights in Cape Verde and beyond, especially the work with vulnerable children and families.

In a brief reaction, Lourença Tavares is grateful for this award, noting that she “lacks words of thanks” for the “gesture of France and Germany”, for the recognition of the work of ACRIDES (ISS Cape Verde).

I only tell you that this award is not only mine, I dedicate it to all volunteers and collaborators of my team, the founding members of ACRIDES, and to all ACRIDES partners who contributed to the consolidation of all our projects,” said Lourença Tavares.

It also emphasizes that ACRIDES “belongs to everyone who sees in the child a growing being and needs a good look, gesture, and protection of all adults”.
