Alternative care resources adapted for COVID-19/ May 2020

Led by the Alliance for Child Protection in Emergencies, BCN and UNICEF, ISS fed into the process to develop a technical guidance note on alternative care, which is now available in multiple languages.

This note helps outline key issues to consider to support families and strengthen alternative care options, should this becomes necessary during the health pandemic. Following up on this note, additional work is being carried out on areas such as supporting foster carers, interim care options and influencing national policies.

The ISS/IRC team is working to centralise promising practices which will continue to support these efforts.
