From 09 to 11 September 2019, at the invitation of ISS Malta, ISS/IRC and ISS France delivered a 3-day training on intercountry adoption for ISS Malta staff.

At the invitation of ISS Malta (Malta Foundation for Social Welfare- "FSFW"), ISS/IRC and ISS France provided a training session on intercountry adoption for ISS Malta staff members from 9 to 11 September 2019.

The training aimed to equip them with knowledge of the international and regional standards contained in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the United Nation Guidelines for the Alternative Care of Children, and the 1993 Hague Convention on the Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption; as well as sharing practical and global knowledge on responding to various specific issues in adoption such as the importance of pre-and post-adoption support, adoption breakdowns, search for origins, open adoptions, LGBT and single person adoptions, expatriate adoptions, private and independent adoptions and illegal and illicit practices in adoption.
