The variety and range of ISS international activities has led to the development of close collaborative relationships with numerous international governmental and non governmental organisations in order to provide children, families and individuals with the most appropriate assistance.

- The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)
- The Hague Conference on Private International Law
- The International Save the Children Alliance
- The Inter-American Children’s Institute are among its close partners.
Furthermore, ISS has been granted consultative status with United Nations Economic and Social Council, UNICEF, the European Council and the Organisation of American States.
It is also a member of the NGO Group for the Convention on the Rights of the Child for which it co-convenes the working group on children without parental care with SOS-Kinderdorf. Additionally, ISS is a member of the International Council on Social Welfare and of the NGO Committee on UNICEF.
