Documents with free access
Adoption related issues are becoming more topical receiving significant media coverage which can lead to an often distorted image of this special family bond. There is a substantial amount of literature available within receiving countries on adoptions and sorting through these diverse documents is not always easy. On the other hand, professionals within countries of origin suffer from a lack of useful literature and tools to sustain them in their work.
Being aware of these different needs, ISS/IRC has identified a list of relevant documents and tools with a special emphasis on the principles and rights that should guide the protection of children deprived of their family. The selection proposes a mix of theoretical and practical tools, examples of good practice and commentaries on various subjects relating to the protection of children deprived of their family. Part of these documents has been produced by ISS/IRC, and others are authored by expert partners. They can be directly accessed below and are mainly available in English, French or Spanish.
The documents are organised in the following categories
- Thematic Fact Sheets on Children Deprived of Parental Care
