This section will provide you with numerous useful documents containing accurate, technical and sometimes sensitive information. It is intended to provide you with comprehensive information relating to adoption and to help you in your everyday work with the children and/or their families.
However, if you communicate any information from this section to non professionals (eg: prospective adoptive parents), ISS/IRC expressly asks you to ensure that the context of the information source be also provided in order to avoid any misunderstanding and misinterpretation.
- Archives of Monthly Reviews: This series of documents proposes a selection of articles published in our Monthly Reviews.
- Country Situations: Fact sheets relating to the current situation of the protection of children deprived of their family and, more specifically, adoption in a series of countries. Most documents contain a presentation of the relevant legislation, the main protagonists, the practice and the risks relating to children’s rights in the context of adoption. An analysis of the general situation of children deprived of their family and of adoption is also provided for most countries. For a few countries, only an index of legislation is available, identifying the legal texts relating to the protection of the child deprived or at risk of being deprived of his/her family of origin as well as those relating to adoption. The documents for these countries will be progressively transformed into comprehensive country situation analysis.
Please note that you may find additional information relating to specific countries and topics in the series of documents in free access or within our bibliographic data bank.
We would also be very grateful to receive any updated information, legislation and/or documents relating to the protection of children deprived of their family and adoption. This would help us to complete our data base and provide our partners with comprehensive information. You may send your documents by e-mail. Thank you for your cooperation.
