ISS/Casework Working principles
Members of ISS network cooperate together for the benefit of the families and children concerned. Professionals are guided by the following working principles when handling intercountry casework:
- Child focussed:
ISS analyses situations through children/families perspectives and seeks to uphold the best interest of the child.
- Impartiality:
ISS provides support without any national, racial, religious or political discrimination.
- Empathy:
ISS is sensitive to the needs and expectations of each family member and promotes understanding and acceptance of cultural diversity.
- Confidentiality:
ISS values the privacy of the persons concerned and shares information within a strict framework.
